Bureaucracy. Politics. Freedom comes wrapped in Universal sized red tape.

Driven from Earth, Admiral Beijing York led an armada of Synthetically-Enhanced soldiers and its civilian crew to settle an alien world. Their new society is beginning to flourish when Bei is informed that no Human, Syn-En or otherwise, can be free until the species registers on a distant planet. Determined to protect humanity, Bei and his wife lead an advanced scouting team to secure their liberty.

And an ancient enemy is waiting to intercept them.

The Founding Five won't give up their favorite slaves or medical guinea pigs without a fight. Now, Bei has to decide if freedom is worth the price when he must sacrifice everyone he loves to win it.

SynEn Registration eBook Linda Andrews

This review addresses all of Andrews' Syn-En books, and I must like them because I've read them all. BTW, do it in sequence for best appreciation.
The plot is great and the characters very interesting. I also like the science, although it stretches credibility a little, even for a hard SF fan. Nevertheless I found myself getting involved in the story very quickly, and look forward to future books in the series.
One plot device which I found overused, however - the continued process of leaving one or more of the central players in a seemingly impossible situation, only to have him/her/them almost miraculously saved three chapters later. All the rescues are plausible, but there are so many of them throughout each novel I almost envisioned poor Nell (aptly named heroine) being strapped to the tracks by Snidely Whiplash with the oncoming train just a few hundred yards away. How will the Mountie save her this time?
I particularly liked the way the author deals indirectly with a long time SF sociological theme - What does it mean to be human? The best known version of this was Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" - "Blade Runner" for you movie buffs. Andrews takes a very different and interesting tack.
A good read.

SynEn Registration eBook Linda Andrews Reviews

Each new submission from Linda Andrews is better than the last. I had just about given up on classic SiFi but am happy to find a new author (for me anyway) that can deliver. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to the next work from you.
I enjoyed the Redaction series and decided to try more of Ms. Andrews' work. I wasn't disappointed. Although quick reads, the story keeps you interested and wanting to find out what happens next.
I know this is a series and I have enjoyed all three books but this one seemed to leave a couple story lines unfinished. The story seemed to jump scenes in a way.

Like I said, I enjoyed this book but felt a little confused at times.
Great read. I enjoyed this book just as much as the first two. Can't wait for book 4. Syn-En went through quite the adventure to register their species as sentient. Now Nell, one of the main characters is upgraded as new and improved, physically speaking. She has quite the mind in thinking out of the box...
This was least enjoyable of the trilogy (please let it be JUST 3)....WAY too many different species/alien races that were over-described at times or details just assumed you understood & could visualize them. Unlike a Star Wars or Star Trek film, the many races were difficult to decipher their importance in the plotline....you just had to skip over it & get to the action/chaos or immerse into the mundane details....I finished it out of duty to the trilogy & the main characters. Definitely not a stand alone book.
